UCC Student Hub, Cork

Whilst at O’Donnell and Tuomey architects. Minesh was fortunate to work on a range of projects including the UCC Student Hub. Minesh was the Project Architect on this project from the technical design stage through to construction and practical completion.

The project is the restoration and extension of an existing historic building of national importance in the centre of a live historic campus of University College Cork.

The intention for the new building was to bring together previously dispersed and unconnected activities and programmes to provide a space within which more students would take part in activities that impact significantly on retention, success and employability.

The aim was to achieve cross promotion of student services, and create a hub for student activities, with a sense of ownership and identity, reducing mobility problems and facilitating an efficient enjoyable service for all students.

The project was also at the centre of UCC’s commitment to delivering a world class student experience; enabling the University to compete on an international basis for both students and academic staff.

Project realised by O’Donnell and Tuomey Architects.
